Hi
Is it just me that has noticed how lax ebay is, I spotted a member being racist in an advert a while ago, don't think it was for a car, but it was clearly wrong, went to report it, and I had to enter the item number and the complaint form didn't work. I then sent it to the customer services, only then to be reminded to use the complaint form, even though in my mail to them I mentioned the form did not work!
I have searched and found that memeber tonight, and he has not been banned from ebay, nothing has happened, ebay can't give me an outcome.
I once sent a comment to ebay, to say how I found part of there listing fees to be out of date. It said you can pay them by cheque, then in a further catagory it says that this service has been cancelled. I thought I would say that they should think about updating there instructions, but they said we donot accept or act of customer coments, or something to that effect, aparently it is policy!
Also all of these false listings like Ricks E83W, never get removed, they are still there waiting for someone to fall into the trap, long after ebay have been notified!
Mr Ebay would be very poor if no one bought off his site, so I think they should become a bit better at customer relations? Anyone else have a View??
I feel better now anyway, after my Rant!!
Cheers

I agree there is certainly plenty of room for improvement!
With regard to the spoof listings, as with my old pickup:
Part of the problem seems to be with the ease of setting up a new account, and then using it to place spoof listings in the hope of catching people out. Perhaps all new user requests should be seconded by an existing ebay user, who has a minimum of (10) positive feedback? and from an IP address (computer id) different to that of the new person registering?
Possibly eBay should personally check all new listings, from new users, before they go live, until a number of + feedbacks has been earnt?
I think the next problem would be: how can eBay prove that a listing is dodgy? ok we see a listing (usually a Classified Ad) and know that the car is being listed at a ridiculously low figure, but how might an eBay employee know this, if old cars aren't their thing?

EBay are absolutely atrocious for customer service.
After there highly questionable attitude cost me £100 or so, I have refused to sell on there for some time now, and if I can find anywhere else to buy the same stuff, I do.
They have enough registered mugs and crooks to pay their wages and survive, unfortunately! |

Well I went to bid on a trafficator switch, found out I could not? Thought Ebay had crashed just another probelm? Btw we just mailed a package to another ebayer do to ebay crash a couple of weeks ago. But back to the original problem. Well I asked the seller a question, I stated there must be a problem with Ebay, because we have excellent rating and so does this seller. He replied he put on that list but doesn't remember why? Now past purchases from the seller consisted of a prewar m/c carb and a pair of prewar headlanps for my MGTA. Unfortunately the one lens was broken in transport. The dread of dealing with our postal service and a foreign country is enough to make one's stomach sick. The seller went out of his way to send me another which arrived perfect. This was so appreciated that the feedback left included the words "The Best" i have only used them once. Past purchases outside the states, only one other mishap, a fruit jar broken during customs inspection. As much as we knock our postal system here it works quite well a half of a cardboard box with an oddball hammer arrived no name address arrived, with my mail lady sayin this looks like something you'd buy. Yep she was right. I guess why I'm posting this is? Do you see a reason for banning me from bidding? or we here in the states disliked that much? Hell no i don't support bush and his imperialist views. Thank you for time Take care! tt |
