Oooh! Now that I do like!
Does anyone recognise the engine (which certainly isn't 1934 Skoda)? |

The small engine belies the spirited performance of these little cars, but the looks are definitely an acquired taste.
Engineering wise, these were quite advanced cars, and even the 60,s Panhards had small boxer engines, but credible performance.
The last "true" Panhard, the 24CT coupe, was also quite pretty. |

Thanks for those links, Peter; it looks like it's a 1934-35 Type 908 fitted with the later 1100cc ohv engine. The modern alternator distracted me from the detail |

| Ah well! The Skoda's not coming my way - it's up to £19,000 with one day to go, and not reached its reserve... |

Well, I thought it was exciting (in all probability it is one of five built, and may well have had period competition history), but not that exciting! I thought something in the mid-teens would have been about right. Having said that, I don't think the UK is its market - I would have expected it to sell to Germany where this art-deco style is more appreciated.
For the money it is now reaching (and yet not selling...), I think I would play safe and go for something like an M-Type MG. |
