Recently I have seen a number of television shows and movies in which E83Ws have appeared.
Of course there is the Pierce Brosnan movie "Evelyn" set in postwar Ireland and giving the E83W probably it's most famous and longest movie exposure but quite a few other productions have had appearances by our trucks, too.
The British production "Vera Drake" (set in London in 1952), now out on DVD in Canada, features a scene with a closeup of an E83W van in a dark alley and (I think) an E83W pickup passes in the background.
U.S. Public Television channels and a local non-profit channel in Vancouver, B.C., "Knowledge Network", have been showing episodes of the British productions of "Foley's War" which featured good shots of E83W vans on at least two episodes, and "Miss Marple" which sometimes has E83Ws in the episodes, too. One episode featured an Estate Wagon or Utilecon in quite a long scene involving a woman motoring away in it, singing, as her freind is strangled while hanging out her laundry to dry!
Some years ago a Minnie Driver movie, "Circle of Friends", had a brief shot of a van in one scene.
More recently, the Hollywood production, "The Good Shepherd" showed a 1940 London Blitz scene with a closeup of an E83W van.
Just a couple of days ago a documentary series called "Flightpath" showed early experiments in vertical takeoff aircraft including the Short SC-1. In a clip of the SC-! getting ready to lift off there was an E83W dropside pickup presumably ready to pick up the pieces!
I always watch British shows, wartime documentaries, etc, in the hope of glimpsing an E83W at work. Does anyone else have any knowledge of shows in which the Thames/Fordson E83W appears?

Hi Les, there was an early 70s Michael Caine film on telly a couple of weeks back, called Pulp. A pickup featured quite noticeably towards the end of the film, bombing around a beach and chasing a fella on foot who couldn't escape. In reality he could have adopted a brisk stroll and he'd have outrun it I think Smile

A rear view appears in the movie poster showing the truck, but I can only find a tiny views of it, as on this webpage:

and a slightly larger version on here:
