Hi all,

as some of you know, do I also like the smaller versions of cars, namely the ones by SCALEXTRIC.

I made this display cabinet out of a old shop desk many years ago =

But I wanted another one, so I could display a little more of my cars, so after having bought this desk some years ago, I finally got it home & did some work on it.

Its a shame there are no room to have the boxes inside, so the cars can stand on top of them.

First in were some more of my Mini,s

Here is what it looks like now.

Not sure if the 2 top shelfs should be replaced with glass ?
Will defenetly fit some mirror to the back wall, and build in some light.

Jens Christian.

Hi Rick,

on the front row its the Merc 230 Pagoda, and TC600,s 1968, but on the top shelf (out of sight) I have 2 front wheel drive C76 Mini Cooper,s = 1965.

My oldest Scalextric car is from the 50ies (metal) but I only collect the 60ies stuff (plastic) models.

Ohh they made (and make) MUCH more, this is only a small part of what they made back then.
Now a days they release soo many new models each year.
hence why I only collect the old stuff.

Is that a Scalex car? I have a couple of them, one's an Aston, the other's a single seater GP car.

Thanks John Smile yes this is a time consuming hobby, many of these cars are restored from the worn out/used toys they were intended to be in the first place.

Hi Penman Smile

in the beginning did I collect Revell - Cox - etc, but later on I focused on Scalextric, and swapped all my other cars for rare Scalextric cars.

I do have some other slot cars & accessories in my collection =

Here is two Volvo 122 S .

Hi Jens. What a great collection. I had quite a large scalextric track, back in the early 70's and decorated the cars to look like rally cars. Favourite was the World cup Rally MK 1 Escort.

Hi Peter,

thanks, I can inform you, that some of the cars inside the display cabinet, are from the small collection i had as a child in the 70ies, just like you.
They have survived more than 12 years in a outhouse, after i moved away from home.
