not done it but like you, spectated a bit and would love a go, esp in something period.
Done vintage trials (on motorcyles) and thats great fun but find that I dont bounce as well as I used to so gracefully retired.

Yes, I've trialled Austin Sevens and a Twelve over the years - great fun, but modern-day VSCC trials are too rough for me and my cars now.

My brother has competed in trials in his Vernon Derby since 1967; this was the VSCC Welsh Trial in 1970 (me in the passenger's seat!) - it looks like they were rough even then!

| I used to do the MCC trials plus a few others like Cotswold Clouds, Allen etc. I absolutely loved it. So much so that I once flew back from Seattle where I was working, did the Lands End, got a first and flew back to Seattle. Great weekend. I used a Mexico at first jacked up so it had no suspension movement which made it hard to drive, and then 3 Midgets. The third was the best. It had a full roll cage which fixed the problem with No 2, that cracked in two at the back of the doors. Avonbar 1380 engine, Imp rear springs on the front, extra leafs at the back, angle iron boot floor shock absorber mounting, hydraulic handbrake and a flip forward one piece bonnet. Super Oscars at the front and two spare wheels on the bootlid. It was a great car, MGOC members really didn't like it. I am very proud of the awards I got |

My business partner does historic and some modern trialing. This is him in his very famous car. If you google the registration I think you'll get chapter and verse.

| Historic trials. Completely forgot that for years I owned a Paul Special (one of them) which in spite of good intentions did nothing with. I eventually sold it to Paul Faulkner, quite emotional really. Really pleased it went to the right person |
