We popped down to the Pistons and Props show yesterday, held at Sywell's historic aerodrome. Static vehicles were out in force, and joined by a good number of competition cars, hot rods, racing motorcycles, karts and others, which were demonstrated down the "Racing Runway". Fantastic weather was an added bonus, with perfect skies forming an ideal backdrop to the aerial activities.
For its first running, we thought it a very good day's entertainment - one that deserves to become a regular occurrence. The setting is excellent, and with parking close to the main display areas it saved on the shoe wear too.

Looks like a great day out with plenty of interesting vehicles - and another sunny car show day, of which there have been lots this year for a change |

Nice photos and a very good turnout of transport.

Rick, thanks for the splendid assortment of photographs. I picked up a leaflet for Pistons and Props, when at Sywell for the LAA rally at the start of the month. In the end i couldn't make it, but your pictures give a good flavour of it all. Very lucky with the weather, as was the LAA event. |

You have just saved me a job of posting photo`s of this event, even if your photo`s are better than mine.
Nice to see you captured the Renault 4CV on the trailer.
This is one show to watch out for next year. So much more fun than seeing vehicles sitting static in a field.
Put them through their paces, that is what we restore them for.

It's a Jowett, I'll have a look and see if I photo'd the information board.
Glad you liked the photos GF - I agree, seeing cars in action makes for a fun day. I've not been to any event that's had an element of drag racing in it before, and while super-modified cars aren't always my thing, those at Sywell were fun to watch and their owners were having a good time too.

Thanks for that, there are clues there but I had only seen the standard one and the Beutler previously. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

This is a genuine Monte Carlo car. Lives in the Loughborough area today.
A goodly number of specialist body makers put bodies on the Jupiter chassis. In my opinion, with the exception of the Beutler and the Farina ones they are a blight!
