Reading the description it is an important car but surely that price is unrealistic. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I cannot believe the car is worth that much.
I think some sellers do try their luck. I have often seen a similar pricing strategy used with property in "desirable" areas. The owner is not in a mad rush to sell (or even really looking to sell) so asks an elevated price in the hope that a buyer will pitch up and actually pay. If they don`t nothing is lost. If they do........ |

It would be fair to say that TR prices have been increasing recently.
Perhaps this is a particularly interesting car in A1 condition but even with all that I think the price is OTT. |

You only have to attend an auction to see that there are too many people with too much money!
Meanwhile, those of us with limited resources are the ones who actually restore, love and cherish these things. It will doubtless end up in a big shed, along with tens of millions of pounds worth of other much desired motors, and probably never see the road ever again!

TR5s are rare and sought after and their prices are rising, so it'll be interesting to see if this one makes the money.
If anyone fancies a TR5, a friend has a very good and sound one for about half which is the low end of the going rate.
In the seventies I sold my Healey 3000s for £300, MGC for £800, my R-R 25/30 for £1200, my E Type for £1000, my DB5 for £1350, my Silver Dawn for £3000 and my S1 Fastback Continental for £3450. They've gone up a bit since, but I wouldn't want any of them back. |

Can I have chassis #2 at half the price? And as regards Ashley's post above, I think we all have memories like that, but our incomes were commensurate. I sold my Manx Norton for £40 and bought an outside lock E-type for £300 in the 60s for example! |

In reading the ad. again, I notice the spec includes a "fitted gear knob"
a "chrome glove box lock"....and "door seals."
Now I get it!! |
