Hi there
I have been quite taken with a BSA Scout two seater recently but my only reservation before purchasing it is the legroom. I am about 6ft 2" tall and when sitting in it my knees are knocking on the steering wheel.
The seat does not go back any further but there does look like there are another inch or two if the seats were unbolted and fastened further back toward the rear squab.
Has anyone come across this sort of problem before and apart from sawing your legs off what did you do?
Are there any Scout owners out there who have the four seater? Would this be a better option?
All the best

Yes, this can be a problem, particularly with two-seaters with a brace across the back of the seats; I think the four-seater Scout has bucket seats which may well be adaptable to your requirements. Alternatively, it may be possible to provide enough leg room by a) removing the cushions and sitting directly on the floor and/or b) removing some of the padding from the squab. I have used both techniques in an Austin Seven Ulster and a special, and a surprising amount of space can be liberated - I don't recommend your alternative suggestion _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
