Ah, an excuse to look through my old copies of 'Charge Utile' (the French old commercial vehicle magazine that I always try and buy when on holiday in France), as if I needed an excuse Smile
It is a Peugeot J7 of about 1966, and looks well worth saving. I saw one or two in rural Brittany last year, and you also see them from time to time converted into market stalls for selling meat, etc; the whole side folds down to form a counter and the inside is just like a normal butchers. Now one of those should make a great preservation project Cool

Hi Rick, as yet i havent decided what to do! I will check it out then decide if will restore it or possibly see if others are interested in it. I am not really mechanically minded.

Yep, that would be the place to look, love those old Peugeot vans, a sort of Gallic Commer PB, that one certainly looks to be a fairly easy project Very Happy

France is the best kept secret for classic cars or spares for them, it's littered with them - quite...er...literally.

Any age, any model, anywhere - you'll find it in France if you look in the more rural areas, and even though most have been left outdoors they don't seem to perish in quite the way the UK counterparts do.

Hi,

No I didn't buy this van it's just an example of the type of thing out there.
We Brits locked in our little island tend to forget that France is huge...and mostly rural, giving rise to a vast numbers of vehicles of the 'barn find variety.

Later on when I have a little more time I'll do a thread in the classic cars section on the sort of things still found there and thought commonplace that we in the UK would be fighting over!
