Yep I know the complete story of this pick-up ! right from its birth in 52 up to present day. It makes a real interesting story too. Now if only I could figure out how to post some pics I no longer have the saloon , the Mrs reckoned I had to many vehicles and something had to go ! So After much soul searching I sold my Bedford CF van and the A70 car. Kept the Mrs happy though "MO" |

well I have been experimenting and think I may now have half an idea on how to post pictures Anyway I will have a go . my A70 was the one in the P C magazine a lot of years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to buy this after somebody else pulled out. Originally sent to Norway when new, I bought it in Holland. I had been searching for an affordable Hereford ute for years and luck was on my side this time . Here,s a couple of more pics that may be of interest "MO"

Thats interesting! Anthony Hoists built the steel back bodies for the E83W and others (like Buzzy's), with the Fords it was listed as a Builders Truck, rather than a pickup - it was certainly much beefier than the standard Ford offering, which was made from wood. Perhaps the AH bodied pickups were designed for heavier use and abuse, than the factory pickup from Austin? I know when I look at the Devon pickup back body, it isn't the toughest I've seen!!

Hi
It is interesting that the second advert has bolt on spats covering much more of the rear wheels. |

Hi
They suited that woodie didn't they, in fact the moulded body would have been more difficult to fit with the wood framing, but they could be murder on a builders truck on a building site with all the muck getting up behind them. |
