slowly working through the previous user registrations, upto 112 so far and counting. Previously there were 500+ registrations although not all were used so probably half that number will get things back to where they should be Smile

So far I've managed to re-create just over 200 logins for which I have info for. Earlier logins, ie those that people submitted themselves via the old login form (the one that also got spammed repeatedly), I don't have details for so I'm hoping that those people will come forward with their details, so that I can set them up again.

I did do a download of all user emails some time ago (pre-crash), so I might try sending out a bulk mailshot, and hopefully it'll get the attention of the people I haven't been able to set up again.

In order to try and restore the login details for the remaining 300+ userids that existing prior to the database problem, you'll notice that I sent out an email this morning to all users that had registered prior to the crash.

Don't worry, emails from me about the forum will not be a regular occurrence! this is just an attempt to flag the problem, and the solution, to users who may not have yet noticed that their login doesn't work, or who have tried it but don't know why they can't log in

cheers, RJ Smile

Today I set up the 500th user on the forum, virtually back to the same number of logins that existed prior to last November's shenannigans Smile
