|
|
I'm ordering a new modern at the moment, one of the options you see is a "smokers package" which I wont have as I don't smoke!!.
However couldn't resist this "Wilmot" smoker’s accessory that I found on eBay.
It’s a pipe holder with detachable match box and ash tray! It’s inscribed “Morris” don’t know if this refers to the car brand or name of the individual who owned it originally.
Maker is Wilmot Birmingham which I am assuming is the same Wilmot as in the “Wilmot & Breedan” who made locks ,keys and accessories.
Anyone seen one before?

Wilmot did make a lot of various bits & bobs for cars so I would guess it is off a Morris car, however I wouldn't even hazard a guess at the model |

I believe these were standard equipment on Morris Oxfords in the '20s.

Peter
thanks for that pic, it looks exactley the same. Up to now I had assumed that it was an aftermarket accesory.
Now just need the car to go with it !!!

Nice advert Peter, by pure coincidence I was in Atkinson St Mancheter this morning! (the distributor in the add) its in the city centre , all fairly modern office blocks now, no sign of a motor distributor!.
