Having got my Alldays running (Yay!) I now realise that the quickest way to make sure it both looks good and keeps cool is to get the radiator renovated.

Can anyone recommend a good restorer, distance (within the UK) no object, quality of workmanship more important than price.

These people have a very good reputation. They are doing my Austin 101 radiator, or will be once I have made up a new set of frames, as the ones on mine have rusted away completely.

These are just along the road from me in Hartlepool and have built up a good reputation.

I was doing a stand in for a courier friend for a week and was going there at least twice a day for collections.
I got chatting to one bloke and mentioned i had the jag radiator and he mentioned that the MKii was notorious for overheating. He didn't know that my jag was indeed the MKii so he must have learnt it about the jag MKii overheating elsewhere. He said that they had a member of staff that solely did renovations and rebuilds for classic cars as the demand was high. I got to speak with this guy and he seemed very knowledgable and offered to look at and rebuild/ recore/ remodify or rebuild in aluminium my jag radiator.

I haven't used this firm but the number of radiators that went out that week I was on call for classic cars must have numbered over 120.

Why not try washing it out first with one of the proprietary flushing products. This worked with one of our old cars. It would be a shame to alter it if it has nothing wrong with it and only costs a few pounds to try. If that fails or if it finds leaks you never knew you had, then you can go and get it repaired.
