The following is a copy of a press release sent to a number of magazines:
VEHICLE DISPLAY
THE ROYAL INTERNATIONAL AIR TATTOO 2007
14-15 JULY, RAF FAIRFORD, GLOUCESTERSHIRE
www.airtattoo.com
The world’s largest military airshow will be looking to serve up a large slice of American Pie to its visitors next summer and are looking to vehicle owners for help.
The Royal International Air Tattoo, at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, is held in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust and attracts around 165,000 people each year.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the US Air Force, airshow organisers are planning a star-spangled event on July 14-15 2007 featuring the sights and sounds of US popular culture with musical, sporting and interactive entertainment.
To build on the hugely popular vehicle display that featured at this summer’s Air Tattoo, an open invitation has been issued to the owners of American vehicles to exhibit at next year’s event.
Particularly sought after are examples of American vehicles from the 1940s through to the present day to take part in a themed parade in the main arena in the central showground area and in a comprehensive static display.
Clive Elsdon, who is one of the team co-ordinating the display, said: “The Air Tattoo offers people the opportunity to display their vehicles in a unique environment, nestled among many of the world’s greatest aircraft.
US vehicle owners will have the added bonus that RAF Fairford is a US base and so, essentially, they will have the chance to display on ‘home’ turf’. This year’s display attracted more than 100 vehicles per day and the feedback we have had has been excellent. Many have told us what a wonderful experience it was and have asked to come back.”
Fortunately for them, the Vehicle Display Team are also looking for examples of vintage, classic, commercial, custom, competition, military and other interesting vehicles to compliment the 2007 static display.
Spaces for the Vehicle Display and Parade are limited. For further information, contact Clive or Wendy Elsdon by e-mailing

As an american car owner, I do have one question about this event.
Normally when we are invited to take part in a parade, we get free entrance to the event. Is this the case here?
Dont think that I am trying to be cheeky, trying to get something for nothing, or anything else, but it would be interesting to know! |

HI
Nothing wrong with asking!
If you bring your car for one day - you get one free ticket for the driver.
If you bring your car for two days - you get a free ticket for the driver and one for a passenger for both days.
Not bad eh. It is an action packed show and there is something to entertain you the whole day.
email me at vehicledisplays@rafcte.com if you would like any more information
