Hi all,
I'm spending a lot of time updating the main site right now, including deleting pages that are no longer relevant, and re-visiting much of the content that hasn't been touched in a while. The museums page is currently on my radar (http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/museums.htm), if there are any motor museums that should be on there, but aren't currently, please reply here with a link to their website, and I'll get them added in.
thanks, RJ _________________ Rick - Admin

| When in Scotland I much enjoyed the Moray Museum. Not large, informal, all cars on the button, and the man there willing to explain everything we asked. I have photos but I'll put them in another thread. |

The Moray museum owns the highly developed SS 100 "Old Number 8" famously competed by Sammy Newsome in the 1930s.
BWK 77
"1936 Jaguar SS100
Engine: 3485cc
Output: 180 bhp
0–60: 7.5 secs
Top Speed: 140 mph
BWK 77 or, as it is more commonly known ‘Old No.8’ due to its chassis number, was the first racing car from Jaguar. Although started as a private entry in the 1936 Alpine Rally which it won, the car was seen to be a great advertisement so was adopted by Jaguar and ran as a ‘works car’ pre and post war until the advent of the XK120. It started as a standard car and over the years lost its wings and had a lightened chassis and even a supercharger fitted. It raced and won at venues such as Brooklands, Shelsey Walsh Prescott and has recently competed at Goodwood. The museum is currently developing a supercharged engine intended to achieve 250bhp minimum from this ultra-lightweight car." _________________ https://www.nostalgiatech.co.uk

In far flung Barbados...

Mr Malaise is a most accommodating host and has some fine racing pedigree, plus an interesting collection of mostly British cars. He is however as deaf as a post so a conversation is taxing but we'll worth a visit.

| Of course the Haynes is getting better and better, having much expanded over the years (I wrote an article about it a few years back), the there is what was the CSMA museum in the Cotswolds, and if one goes abroad the mighty Schlumpf museum. I have pictures of them all. |

Oh, that's a very old thing to be doing with a web site - from the days before people took into account that their users might be browsing in work time. That would stop me visiting the site.
I had a quick look around the museum at Prescott last time we were there, that was quite interesting. I'm not sure whether the stuff on display was particularly aimed at the event (VSCC) or whether it's a general display. |

The Atwell Wilson friends of the museum always have an autojumble stand at restorations shows at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet. They have done for years and raise funds for the museum doing so. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
