If I am right Rick these weren't actually "discovered". New Forest Classics (or Beaulieu Garage) have been buying reserve stock of Jaguars for restoration for years and if you look at their site you'll find that they have some wonderful cars for sale, but the prices are extortionate. It is firmly believed that they are now, in the current market, trying to offload their reserve stock. I cannot be sure it is them, but their photos are sometimes taken outside the showroom so one presumes so.

A very nice 1962 3.8 E-type coupé was sold last week at CCA for £68,000, not concours but good condition and new interior. Their supposedly concours car(shiny, but I've not seen one so can't say if it is truly concours) is on offer at £260,000. Lots of LHD, with a roadster at £300,000 too.

The price of all classics is falling, but Jaguars, especially E-types seem to be hit very hard. Here's another example of the value to be had out there, and believe me knowing the provenance it was a superb buy. It would be hard to restore it these days for the price:-

So it seems the sale is described as being a "barn find" to try and push up the prices.
