T'was the nite before Christmas and all thru the shop
Not a wrench was still turning, all tinkering had stopped.
The sockets were sparkling all neat in their rack,
And the torches were clean, not sooty nor black.
The chassis was ready with motor and all,
And the fenders were hanging from hooks on the wall.
My lady was sleeping all snug and serene,
While I was daydreaming thru a car magazine.
When out in the garage I heard such a sound,
That I figured I'd better go look all around.
As I opened the door and shined in a light,
The room was aglow all shiny and bright.
Then what I saw was such a surprise,
I could not believe my own sleepy eyes.
As quick and as agile as any I've seen,
The neatest and slickest bright red machine.
With a driver so jolly so robust and quick,
I knew (or I thought) it must be Ole Street Nick!
He jumped from his wheels and opened the rear,
Then started unloading all this fabulous gear.
It looked like a swap meet with parts everywhere,
Everything I've wanted or needed was there.
With the hands of a craftsman and an eye for details,
He laid out his pieces in neat little trails.
He wasted no time but continued his task,
And even left gifts for which my wife asked.
Then he hopped in his ride and fired up the mill,
The pipes echoed sounds that gave me a chill.
As quick as he came he roared out of sight,
His stereo blaring " Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night" _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!
