I am trying to decide whether changing from a Carter W-1 to a Stromberg BXOV-2 would result in any improvement in performance on my '32 Chevy Stovebolt-6. I'm asking on this Forum because UK Rally Car vendors often list this change as an upgrade in their descriptions of American cars they offer, particularly Buicks. Is anyone here running one?
The Carter currently installed is an improved version 569, and the car runs well. So, why change? I guess because I have a rebuilt Stromberg sitting on the shelf and the Winter tinkering season is coming.
There's some discussion on the Vintage Chevy VCCA website regarding this mod, but it's not very clear whether there is a noticeable change in performance. Maybe someone on this Forum is running one in their vintage Rally Car and can shed some light.
Regards,
