Hi Rick,
I can give you and few more of my grandfather's 1928 Oxford. The inset is the camera that he is holding.
There's also a version without the inset if you prefer.

Peter,
Those period pictures of your family motoring are really terrific to see. So original. Modern faked photos are just never the same, there is always something to give them away.

Its weird being the same age as old people.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution |

Hi Keith,
My grandfather had died 10 years before I was born but I am told that he was not a very good driver but my mother (sitting on the motorbike) was, although she got her licence before driving tests were introduced so she never passed a test. She used to drive that Oxford from Edinburgh to Devon when they went on family holidays and she was an art teacher and for a time had a job in Oxfordshire and she travelled up and down on her little Francis Barnett, not the Ariel in the photo. She drove from her teens until she died aged 80 and never had an accident.
Back in the 1990s my daughter, dog and I stood outside the same cottage.

Peter , lovely to have that connection even if its just a photo! none of my grandparents drove, probably a weird thing these days ! I can tell by the wheels that's the CD versions of the Caviller that you have, in 1990 I had the SRI version H516XLG - no alloy wheels on the SRI, still plastic trims! .

Thanks Dave,
That was a company car (the second and last that I had). My first company car was a 2 Litre Cavalier SRi E856LDC and I thought it was a really great car. The CDi supposedly had the same engine but it didn't appear to have quite as much bite as SRi.
Before I bought my SS in 1993 I very seriously looked into buying a 1928 Oxford but on balance went for the soft option. I was put to shame when I made contact with Lytton Jarman.

Yes, I am the chap who wrote the Bullnose history. I was taken for my christening in the family 1929 Morris Oxford. I had Bullnoses for everyday transport and never bought a modern car until I retired.
This was the Bullnose that I used for daily transport:-

This was Lytton's Bullnose when he bought it. He added: "Yes, I did a little work on it!!!"
