Hi

Someone on the BOC forum is looking for an engine

Quote:
Happy New Year.
Does anyone have a reasonably priced good second hand 383cu in Mopar engine
for sale???
I have a holed piston and little energy at the moment, so I am looking for a
quick way to get back on the road.

Alternatively does anyone know of the best way to source a new 383 engine
from the USA

Any ideas?

What models and age of car would this motor have been fitted in when new?

Rick:

Just talking Mopar products, the 383 (also known as aB-series engine Very Happy) was fitted to a lot of Mopar models between 1961 and 1971(?). For the 1972 year, it became a 400...and prior to 1961 it was a smaller than 383...

This engine also found its way into a lot of other cars, not only Bristols....

I am in Uk and I believe the enquirer is as well.
I will pass on your message but he would probably want a 383 for the Bristol.
They used 383s in the 411 s1,2,& 3. but they did use the 400s in the 411 s4 & 5

Hi
He hasn't got back to me I posted, on the Bristol site, the link to this thread and also PMd him with your message.
Can only leave it up to him.
He has had a fair few answers from Bristol owners as well.
