Yesterday I went out for a trundle around the Sussex countryside.
Near Washington I came across this yard full of old vehicles, heaps of enginees and transmission parts all visible from the road.
I recognise an AEC Matador and a Scammell? recovery vehicle.
Unfortunately the sun was very bright and low which made it difficult to take many pics.

The lorry in the last pic is either an AEC/Leyland/Albion, its a rear view if an Ergomatic cab that was shared be 3 manufacturers.

The breakdown truck is an ex military Scammel Explorer of mid 1950s vintage.

Lovely day today so i went back to this place to see if i could get some more pictures. I pulled up in my truck and there was a chap in there chopping wood. He looked at my truck and invited me in for a look around.
Turns out Solly Harris' family have been there since 1816. They are traveling funfair showmen. He gave me a guided tour of his 2 yards. It was incredible the stuff he has!
He has 16 AEC Matadors, Scammells, Fodens, Russian army trucks, US army trucks. He was telling me so much information I cant remember half of it.
A very nice, friendly gent. I wanted to buy one of his J40's from his Austin car roundabout but he didnt have one spare.
