To the casual observer the Isetta 300 is either a 3 or 4 wheel version (with the two rear wheels close coupled) but there were other differences.
Apart from either being left or right hand drive, some cars had a conventional front bumper while other cars had chrome "cow horns". Less well known is that some cars had sidelights under the headlamps.
Perhaps they were optional extras or date associated.?? |

The Wiki page gives rather a lot of info starting from the original Italian ISO Isetta,

I remember the workshop manual saying...
"first remove the body".

Morning all, today's photo compilation looks at old Land Rovers, from the regular S1s, S2s and S3s, to prototypes including the centre-steer Landy, another driven by an elephant, the wild-looking Forest Rover, a tracked example, and many more.

Sounds like you are looking for a post war car with reasonable spares support.
The 2.5 litre Riley RM is interesting and good to drive. They are rather noisy and a bit like many modern cars there is often a stupid amount of dismantling to get to things but the good handling, performance and braking make it worth the negatives.

I am sure you will have a Dodge sized hole in your life for a while but no doubt it will be filled with something just as nice.
How about a complete change. You were very impressed with that Mk10 Jag in a recent video. I think it depends on how much courage you have to drive such a beast. You know you want one really!
As a youth I worked in a garage belonging to my Dad's mate. I was thrown in at the deep end and given "responsibility" for the maintenance of a bronze 420G. I learned a lot in a short space of time!
These are simply wonderful cars in my opinion; they are pretty quick, steer beautifully thanks to the variomatic system and you literally whaft along like a Rolls... but you probably need to have passengers to make the most of all that space!
I bet you don't get one. |

I've owned and run S1 XJs before now so a Mk10/420G wouldn't be too big a leap, problem is it'd be very tight in the garage to get the driver's door open. But yes a Mk10 has crossed my mind on a couple of occasions.
I'm keeping an open mind, something mid/late 1930s with a reasonably sized engine is an option (there are nice P1 Rovers around for example). As is something 1950s. Maybe something small and nimble, or large with plenty of room? Whatever we end up with I'd like something that was built in reasonable numbers, so parts are around, but ideally not something I've had before but isn't too much of a nightmare to get my head around Hmmmmmm
