The Renault Rick brought to our attention, sold, the seller tells me, but he is now selling this one....which I like even more.
One of us MUST snap it up! I will ask what he wants for it. |

Hi
Looks interesting, as does the rest of his shed!
Where abouts is he?
I think you need a project in wait for when the current one is done don't you?
Cheers

Dave, mate, I shall need a holiday! This one has really tied me down......No, I think I shall stick to motorbikes after this one
But, I wrote to the Renault guy, odd-cars, and he wrote back:
"it owes me £2500+vat as i purchased it through our company so i had to pay vat on it, so its about £3k all in or near offer, i can do a deal on delivery if need be, it is a simple resoration its basicly sound, i will probably bung it on ebay in the next couple of weeks when i get round to it. regards matt "
They are in Wimborne and Southampton The latter, I think, is where the truck is. |

me too, Rick. I have it on my desktop...and it is really growing on me. If I had that sort of cash spare and the space for it....I'd keep it for the next project in a shot.
I REALLY like it!
Anyone in East Anglia fancy syndicating it? |

| In the 1960's there was a Rolls Royce breakdown truck , at a garage in Lye near Stourbridge , Worcs. I saw it there for many years. I don't know what year, the R.R. was made but I would think it was 1930's. The R.R. was in red on the radiator. Any body know the history of this ? Or what happen to it ? |

It was a R.R.breakdown truck for sure, it is etched in my memory.
I will tell you a story of Lye or is it The Lye, which is all true. In the 60's about 10 of us [all guys] went out for a beer or two. In those days you could drive when you were drunk, problems came when you hit something. So there was 3 of us in the car when we came upon a girl hitch - hiking, so we pulled over, it was about 11 pm, cold and very few cars on the road. She said that she wanted to go to Lye. We said that we were going to Bruce's place in Pedmore Stourbridge for a coffee. If she wanted to come for a coffee, she could, and then we would take her to Lye. She agreed and got in with 3 guys.Bruce's parents house was at the end of a cul-de-sac, then there was a deep cutting with a railway track at the bottom. As the track was on a grade the whole house used to shake when goods trains were working up the grade. Bruce's mum was German so coffee was always on the go , up till 12 pm or later. It was a very free house,10 or more came in for a coffee, every body was welcome , no matter what the time. So after about half an hour and some good coffee, we took her to Lye.
The only sad part of this story is that Bruce died in his early 40's of cancer and left a wife and two young children. |

I'd be up for it, but I've gotta sell a pick-up first... _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!
