Was having a garage clear out the other day, and managed to find five old water pumps, Ford sidevalve V8 types. Two of them I remember changing four years ago, and the others were "donated" with the car, and look rather scabby and are a bit stiff to rotate. Three are left hand and the other two right hand (they incorporate the engine mounting brackets).
Why am I telling you this? Well to be honest I'm loath to scrap them because I'm sure they can be repaired, but I don't need them and don't have the tools to do so.
Would they be worth anything to anyone? _________________ For the last seven hours, my wife has just stared through the window. It's unnerved me so much, I've let her in |

| Had an Australian XY Ford 6 cly . Had a squeaky noise under the bonnet . Had a look and then went and bought a new water pump . Put the pump on but it was the alternator . Dust had got into the bearings . Replaced the bearings and no more problems .... |

I have a little experience with these. There are two main types of Ford side valve V8 water pumps, the single pulley and dual pulley
The single pulley type has a basic bronze oil-ite bush.
The dual pulley type was mainly used in trucks , these pumps have a sealed ball bearing similar to most other water pumps of that time.
Looking on the usual sites, there are many aftermarket new pumps available for these Ford V8 engines.
From my own experience, these engines are very unforgiving when it comes to the cooling system. The cooling system has to be in top condition, any small leaks will have the motor boiling it's head off in no time. |
