An awful lot of work to do. Some of them will probably rot away before they are restored. They were beautiful cars in their day and way ahead in some areas. _________________ 1938 Morris 8 Ser II Coupe Utility (Pickup)

I have always liked the look of the early Bristol cars but - as with most of us - I have never had the chance to drive one. I noticed a dealer car that ticks all the boxes for me but I really couldn't justify the cost. They are asking 50K for this one.

The problem is when they're part dismantled. Anyone considering taking on such a project without knowing you've got all the rare bits is scuppered. I suspect most of this lot will end up weighed in for scrap. A terrible shame.
It's a lesson to us all. Leave them complete, restore one at a time! _________________ Daimler Fifteen 1934 (now sold)

It looked to me like someone thought they could make a business from Bristol spares... |

This is/was the remains of Brian May's collection - for many years he ran a very successful business and was the go-to person for all things Bristol. One of the derelict shells was the remains of PRA 377, in which my late father competed in a number of rallies in the 1950s; sadly it was too far gone for my limited skills...

I am sorry to hear that, Mike. I would find it deeply frustrating if it were my family history. |

I've watched a few videos by the Bearded Explorer. One recently of a massive abandoned scrapyard in Sweden is quite interesting. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I remember he once made an illicit entry into the former Bristol HQ premises at Windlesham, Surrey. In the basement were various bucks used for body shells. `
The club tried to acquire the contents but that is another story... |
