We spent the day at the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton yesterday. It's a superb day out if you ever get the chance to visit.

Lots of great static aircraft on display and with the historic flight being based there you occasionally see some of the vintage aircraft fly.

I'm very keen on aircraft preservation and the Museum are currently restoring the sole surviving Fairey Barracuda, she was found in a bog in N.Ireland and is in terrible condition. The plan is to restore her over a 10 year period to a static display in the Museum.

My son and I visited the Fleet Air Arm museum in Yeovilton two years ago when we were last in Britain. We enjoyed the static displays but were fascinated by the imitation 'lift' that represented the lower decks on the HMS Queen Elizebeth aircraft carrier, with 'personel' explaning what was what on each deck. Very cleverly done.
It was a great day out, made even better by our visiting the Haynes motor museum the very next day.

Its weird being the same age as old people.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution

It is a lovely museum Keith, right on our doorstep but we hardly ever go there. That's often the way isn't it.
