Apparently Jaguar won the 2023-2024 Formula E team championship, although they've not capitalised on it PR-wise from what I can tell*

When I said race car I was not thinking about those Micky Mouse contraptions. I leave all that sort of thing to the Wokists. |

The front looks to have the aerodynamics of a Range Rover...or even an upright piano! |

Personally I am glad that at long last Jaguar are looking forwards and not backwards. They have been trading on their past glories for far too long in my opinion. The irony is that they were harking back to the XK family and most obviously the E type when in fact the whole point of these cars back in the day is that they were ground breaking
I realise that the batterymobiles they are introducing won't appeal to grey beards like us (or white beard in my case) but thats missing the point. _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back!" |

Is there any red blooded person on the planet who is genuinely enthused or thrilled by Formula E?. I've been following motor racing for fifty years and have never seen anything so tepid and pointless. And I remember Formula Talbot! _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back!" |

Its nothing new to Jaguar
Whilst I'm not convinced by the "JR" emblem, I'm glad they are keeping the cat.

Lots of people think that the leaper is a post war thing but in fact in fact it was designed by F. Gordon Crosby as an accessory for the 1938/39 cars.
Here is Gordon Crosby with his mascot on his own 1937 car.
Note the March 1939 date on this copy of The Autocar.

| For the life of me I can't figure out to post my photos. Anyway, they are what I believe was the last time a Jaguar was raced and it was at Le Mans 2010 and in the GT class - an XKR. It spent very little time on the track failing to qualify any of the rookies but despite that they were allowed to start the race (the same as the Japanese Lagonda) but limped round and disappeared after three laps. My photos are in the pits and on the hump before the Mulsanne bend. Anyone help please? I can send you the photos if you can post them |
