Maybe you should have used a mirror when looking for a nut under the car???

I tried the headlamps again today and now the o/s high beam has stopped working. I have removed both lenses again and separated the reflectors. Tests show reduced voltage getting to the terminals. So I am back to square one.
I will persevere...but it is all getting a bit old now.
Further investigation has established that the intermittent fault is not in the loom. THIS time I have a poor voltage reading in the supply wires under the dash. There are two single wires that supply the double wires that go to the lamps; the single wires are from No.87 on two relays that are connected by switches.
I will be delving into that area in the hope of finding the fault.
.........................just tested the headlamp switch again and this time get a reduced voltage reading. Getting closer!
.........................not so fast; now I can't get the chrome bezel off the switch.!!

Tell you what, Ray, I'll give you a tenner for it and take it off your hands. |

So..........I have managed to remove the switch from the dashboard but now it seems to be working O.K...
I will be carefully checking out the connections and wires in that area....
....everything there seems O.K.
but now the ignition warning lamp has stopped working...and it's not the bulb...power is there...so I guess it is a problem with the bulb holder. |

Even that sounds preferable to my wife's suggestion that involves a can of petrol and a box of matches. |

...not at that stage yet...but there are lots of ads on the telly depicting impossibly jolly people who can't wait for us pop our clogs. |
