A reason why I looked closely at the Delage D8?

Oddly, Google lens chose the Alfa....

The chrome [shiny??] strip down the bodyside seems to me to be a signature design of some manufacturer or other?

Also, isn't the photo taken somewhere near Belgium during WW2?

Which might preclude an Alfa, in favour of a more 'local' manufacturer?

bjacko, your posting is very relevant! I am just writing to the original supplier of his father's photo and another that I have just received. Apparently the car is a 1936 Lancia Astura.

Many thanks for the photos and from the radiator badge I must eat humble pie! It does appear to be a Lancia. I think the concentration on the wings and running boards confused Ray White and myself and I suspect the reason was that your father's Lancia and the rather similar Alfa probably shared the same coachbuiler. In the Alfa advert it is described as:

Coachwork by Stabilimenti Farina

[quote="Penman"]What might this be?

I would suggest it is a 1908 Napier.

I'd suggest a 1940s Fordson N but with narrow 'rowcrop' wheels for work amongst rows of vegetables without squashing them, rather than standard width general purpose rear wheels. https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/objects/co39286/fordson-model-n-rowcrop-agricultural-tractor-1940

VFG: Now that fits one of the latter posts on that FB page, He had suggested a 3 wheeled N but every picture of an N I had found was a 4wheeler.

My old mate in Bonny Scotland has unearthed a few ancient photos showing a couple of cars he would like help to identify.
These were all taken on or around the small coastal village of Pennan up near Fraserborough. His family used to run a garage business in the area.
The view with rear registration plate is on Pennans beach road (featured with the phone box in Local Hero, the movie).
Any suggestions on identity?

The first one, "Mystery vehicle in Pennan village", is a circa 1923 Austin Twenty Marlborough three-quarter laundaulet.

The second one looks like it has three-stud wheels, which would make it a late-1920s Morris Cowley.
