A wet cool miserable morning in Perth as I stand and watch my Austin Seven, 'Amy', being taken away by her new owner. I restored her from rusty bits thirty years ago and have driven her around a lot of our State, but unfortunately my wife can longer get in and out of it, so she has gone to a new owner.

PS. The passenger door was closed and the winch handle removed before leaving.

Its weird being the same age as old people.

It's always sad to say goodbye to an old friend, but nothing is forever and I'm sure Amy will soon settle in to her new home and bring happiness to the her new owner. As one page turns, a new chapter begins.

That's right. Its always sad to see one go as they've been a part of our lives for so long. But in good hands they'll bring countless hours of happy motoring to the next custodian.

I am sorry to hear your wife can't enjoy a trip out in your Seven any more.

At least you have your memories.

The new owner will no doubt soon realise that your Seven has wanted for nothing.

Good luck to you both for the future.

Oh Keith, I am so sorry!!😢

On a happier note, if that is your car, I may have met you ! That car looks "suspiciously like" one that came into the Greenhills tavern between York and Quairading when I was there, must be about thirty years ago! I remember talking to the driver for quite a while who was on a wheatbelt tour with his wife. I won't swear it's the same car, but it sure looks similar!

It could have been me, Rusty. I remember we went on a mid-week run with the VCC to Greenhills many moons ago. We lunched at the tavern but I remember a photo shoot we had at the old historic church beforehand. As far as I know, Amy is the only British bodied RN sedan in Western Australia.
