A few from Bolesworth International today. Some rather interesting stuff tuned up there today for the Concours d'Elegance this weekend, here's a very small selection:

1939 Bentley Mark V Corniche

1968 Lamborghini Miura S (in period Kermit green)

And yes, that's a 1956 300SL Gullwing Merc in the background (so that's probably around 3.5 million quid's worth of cars in that one photo, not counting the pagoda Merc to the left!)

And my own favourite of the day, a 1927 6.5 Litre Bentley Doctor's Coupe, with body by Harrison.

Combined with the 'Drivers Lawn' classic car section on Sat and Sun, I think this promises to be a very interesting show.

However... a word of warning if you're thinking of attending... Do put plenty of sun-cream on, and reapply during the day, as today the rays were bouncing up off the grass and, combined with the wind, despite me putting factor 20 sun-cream on this morning, I came home with a face like the setting sun. That was despite me spending a good deal of time sitting out of the sun in a deck chair under the shade of a convenient tree! Hopefully it will be a bit cooler on Sat and Sun, but do take care!

Looks like an interesting do, we were down at a fly-in at a grass airfield in Shropshire today that included an area for old cars, all very civilised - more on this one soon.

An interesting day at Bolesworth yesterday, and nice to catch up. Some very nice cars to look around, plenty of expensive speedboats, horse boxes and the like, retail stalls very horse-oriented, perhaps not surprisingly at a meeting that basically horse jumping but with cars parked around.

There weren't many cars in our area, perhaps a single row of maybe fifteen cars, I don't know whether other events clashing or the cost of entry was putting people off. Fortunately the weather had backed off a bit, I opened the sunroof as I came through Nantwich then had to close it seven or eight miles further as I was on the edge of a rain shower, but it soon dried up and even though it remained cloudy for most of the morning, it brightened up later on.
