|
|
Whenever I have my camera with me, I never seem to see any cars worth posting, but I do see interesting commercial vehicles still in use from time to time, so here's an H-prefix Bedford horsebox I saw today, I think it is a TL, to start the ball rolling:
I saw a few older TKs on the road as well but I'm not very good at driving and taking photos at the same time

Isn't there already a thread for interesting vehicles?
Ah, yes, 'seen anything interesting lately' I think it is....
Or did you intend this to be a 'commercial only' zone? _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!

Hi
I think it is a good idea to have a commercial section for sightings.
Horse owners seem to be hidden preservationists, as they are keeping an ever aging fleet of vehicles alive!
Cheers

Hi j-r, my idea was to have a thread in the commercials section similar to that in the classic cars section, so that all the commercials photos could easily be found. I prefer seeing working ones to preserved ones but lets make it as open as we want to. You're right buzzy, perhaps we should start going to horse shows instead of steam fairs , although some of the most interesting old lorries are found transporting vintage tractors and not in the show ring.

Hi
Very true, sometimes going to a machinery auction you see the old boys transporting there machinery with some wonderful wagons. I don't get much chance now, as I am working but if I end up see some I will try to take some snaps!
Cheers

hi
The horsebox reminded me about this which seems to have been static for some time, at least whenever I have gone past it has been there.

Does any one need heavy lift capability?

Again not snapped by me, but by someone who contacted me towards the end of last year. It shows an early 1950s Fargo (Dodge), powered by the flathead 6 cylinder Chrysler engine...
"I found these blokes in the bush at New South Wales, Australia. Their
old Dodge Truck was nearly rusted away to nothing and was still
running. They were lifting a 4 tonne trailer to do some work on it.
They also put the bonnet back on for a couple of photo's so she could
look her best."

A few spottings out and about lately:
First a Leyland Tiger Cub coach in Llandudno:
Timeless scene with painted board to tempt passengers :
At last I've managed to capture a Pinzgauer, this one in Llandrindod Wells:
Immaculate working Foden heavy plant transporter in lay-by between Tenbury and Leominster:
Finally, this week's mystery object, possibly a Priestman, which appeared in a field just down the lane after being parked up by a fishing pool, which I assume it had dug out some time ago:
