I remember reading about this some years back, a Mk1 Spitty with wooden coachwork - amazing craftsmanship although the styling is definitely individual .. buy it now for £13k..

I've always wanted to try something like that. Combining my car and boat building skills into one project.

Unfortunately 30s style specials, built on chassis of that era usually fall down on appearance due to the front wheels being too far behind the radiator. They never look quite right, but having said that, what a fascinating project for the builder, I'd love to have a go at something like that.
ps how closely are tinworm related to woodworm? Laughing

Some years ago I went with my bro' to collect a vintage trailer, and in the same shed there was a wooden Ferrari lookalike (246 Dino, sort of, if you squinted).

The entire body was wood, and it was an incredible thing really, although the wheezy veedub engine in the back was a bit of a let-down. It was in its natural finish when I saw it. I did spy it on ebay a little while later, someone had nailed on a selection of F40-esque spoilers on it and poured a can of bright red Dulux over it. It would have looked much nicer under a coat of clear varnish, sadly I didn't take a photo.
