Inherited beautiful 1987 BMW 525e and running as everyday transport, 4000 miles a year. Can anyone recommend a sympathetic to older cars , honest, and friendly garage where we can get servicing, repairs done ? Local to Calder Valley, W. Yorkshire... Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Brighouse etc.

Hi jphillips, I'm not sure how many forum members live in that neck of the woods. So do you plan to continue running this car? isnt the 'eta' version of the E28 the one geared for economy? could be useful in this day and age!! I've owned a couple of E28s, and my brother has had 6 or 7 at least over the years. Have you tried contacting a BM owners club to see if anyone in your area can recommend a garage??

I use D.W.Auto's, Spring Garage, Cluntergate, Horbury, near Wakefield (tel. 01924 260323) when needed for my daily runabout M reg. 520 touring.

I have always had good service and reasonable prices from there, they specialise in BMWs.

Having said that I prefer to do most of my own repairs & service.
Cheers
Guy

Yes, they plug into the service point and re-set the lights.
Unfortunately they don't do the service at the same time. Wink
