Hi

I decided to make a new toy this pm, got about half way through it, then thought it was starting to go dark, and had to have dinner then go to see Rick, so packed up, will have another luck and make it rideable with a bit of luck tomorow pm, not pretty, but rideable, if it ever will be! hehe

Then once I have got used to it, expecting some falls, and scratches! hehe, and am sure it needs no changes, or that is isn't going to break on me, I will grind it all up tidy, and then paint it! I may see if my mate fancies practicing his airbrush work on it, make it really posh! hehe

Any guesses what it is, one more clue, it will hardly fit in the garage!

Cheers

Dave Wink Laughing

Hi

No, not that either, That is a mono cycle, and that still has to be done, but I think that needs more thinking.

I have been out in town on my new toy today, not finished, with just a tube stitched on for handle bars, no brakes, ad the pedals are in the wrong place. Also wheighs a ton, I can't lift it! hehe

Here is is:-

Part built by a friend in Canada and part built by me, I am getting better at riding it, think with new handle bars, the crank high up, the seat moves a bit, and the chain being a little tighter it will be ready for a good paint.

Well it is a laugh, certainly got some funny looks, think I am now the Nantwich town excentric! hehe

Cheers

Hi

I have just been fidling with it, bought some handle bars off an old motorbike at the show today for £3.00 so have put them on, and think with a bigger wheel at the back, I should get away witht he pedals as they are.

I have also devised a nice seat braket, but neet to make a seat, how do you even start thinking of making a seat, it has got to be curved, like on a real chopper?

Then I need to do a few strengthening welds, and clean it up, maybe tomorow, if I get chance to go and do some, it will be ready for some primer.

Oh.... Brakes! hehe

I would say I am getting better at riding it, went around the big block this evening, which is 3 - 4 main roads, but due to the time it was relativeley quiet!

Cheers

Dave

Buzzy, you won't need brakes. With those forks you'll have hit whatever it is before you've even seen it Smile

Hi

The speed hump thing is a pain in the bum, I straddle them completely, and have to have my pedals at quarter to and quater past to get over them without being thrown off, I leant this quite quickly.

I had the theory of a big back wheel, but I have gone and welded a load of seat bracketry on, and ofcourse it obstructs a 26" wheel by a couple of mill, so will have to go for a 24" but that only gives me another 1-2" clearence on the pedal cranks. I think some surgery is required, but my mig wire has just run out, so came home for a think, over some dinner!

I have a feeling this bike may end up in the chronicle too! hehe

Cheers

The loading on the steering head weld must be quite phenominal. What would we British do without genuine eccentrics that ride such things.
It's what made Britain great. I think I can feel a tear prickling my eyelids.
More power to yer elbow! Buzzy. Very Happy Very Happy

Hi

Yeah I was thinking the same on the load front, so am going to weld some plate on, to ack as a suport and to stop a little flexing. Need some more wire first though!

Cheers

I'm so pleased you didn't title this thread: "Buzzy's Chopper" Laughing

But I thought you might have. Wink

Ruddy bike!

Just thought, nice day, lets ride the bike home to show my dad, having just shown my mum at the garage, half way home, and what happens, the welds on my handle bars crack and come undone! Blimin heck, it wasn't half hard work to get home with no handle bars!

So that is this pm sorted, need to go and get my welder, buy some wire, and gas, and reweld it, just tried with my arc welder off an extension lead in the garden Shocked , didn't like that and tripped most of the electrics in the house. The nail in the welder never fuses out. The only other option is to get someone to hold the trip switch up, joke! hehe Laughing

Cheers
