Sorry to plop this in here but having left for France before the CC came in to play in London I don't know how it works.
I have just had a letter today inviting me back to my old rugby team (London Irish) for a reunion and testimonial match the reunion is in the Dorchester Hotel
What happens with collecting tolls if I drive to UK in French car?

Not having any experience of the CC as I'm from 'oop north I can't comment on whether a foreign car is still eligible for the charge. I did see a TV programme
in which someone wishing to enter London popped into a tourist info shop to buy CC credits for the day...is that how it works?

Hi
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/congestioncharging/6741.aspx
Gives details of how and when to pay.
It may well be that you could pay at the docks or shuttle station, or a motorway service station on the way in.
If you have a Blue badge you can write in to get an exemption, if there is time before your get together.
Can't see any exceptions for foreign registered vehicles.

If you know the exact date you will be driving in London, you can pay on line in advance.

Grrrr Rolling Eyes Laughing
Have you seen our pack lately?
Incidently I was a tighthead prop for them in the late 80s early 90s. That was a great few years apart from 5 X broken nose, broken collar bone, ankle, fingers and lastly smashed knee that took me out of the game Embarassed
hence the search for warmer climes cause I ache like a bugger in the UK
Although once the word got around I keep getting called to practice with Brive great french team only an hour away from me Rolling Eyes

is the CC payable at weekends as well as during the week? I thought not, but then again I've managed to avoid London ever since it was brought in anyway Smile

And is it possible that classic cars are exempt perhaps? I heard much about City traders threatening to buy vintage Maseratis and the like for their daily jaunt to work just to make a point!
