The topic "tricks with Petrol" brought this subject to mind. Have you guys seen much of these?

Best idea I've ever seen for making following drivers keep their distance. Should be standard fitting to all classics. Laughing

Hi

Not sure about the legality, but there are a few around.

Cheers

VERY rich! Most will "tune" just for the show, then re-adjust to ride home. One fellow at Daytona had some sort of accellerant in a tank that he could shoot by remote from the dash, to produce 50 foot flames!

I've seen them over here old gto, mostly down south in England at various night-time gatherings. Its principally the "Fast & Furious" crowd and then the Hot Rodders that are fitting them onto their cars.

I've even seen a home-made version that to say the least from a fireman's point of view bordered on the really dangerous. But of course, as you know nobody can tell these donkeys how stupid they're being, I just walked away as I knew my friends in the big red trucks would be pointing out the error of his ways eventually.

They can be quite spectacular, especially at night.

Scotty, wasn't it the Rodders that first had them on their cars back in the 1950's and the "Fast & Furious" crowds copied?

Yes, I believe so, but they vanished off the scene for a long time, certainly they did up here, where nowadays the F&F crowd seem to be the main users.
What I was trying to say, albeit very poorly I now realise is the F&F groups seem to have the most vehicles fitted with them nowadays, followed by smaller numbers of Hot Rodders with them fitted currently. I didn't mean for it to read as a time scale of which generation fitted them first - does that make better sense?

But it doesn't take Hot Rodders to pick up on cool stuff again, or should that be hot stuff! Cool

It's amazing how things go full circle. I'd love to have one on the Fairlane, would go well with the clunking of the bumper plaque over the speed bumps. Laughing Wink
