I am not sure now whether this is the right place for this..but...
Is there something I can do about this; sometimes during the day if I come in for a cuppa Rolling Eyes

I will check the forum, if it has too many new posts to look through I will either clear the page or I will leave it on the listings page and come back to it later but as soon as I look at the first post it clears all the new posts before I have had a chance to read them Crying or Very sad

Is there a setting on my profile I have missed or should I just "look in" when i know I have the time to read everything? Rolling Eyes

Greeney, I take my hat off to you for your dedication to the forum! must admit I have missed stuff in the same way, do try an look in the day depending on how busy I am at work, a though I have now got a Crackberry and have been known to both read and respond to posts on the move, bit of a challenge as I opted for the smallest device so the screen is only about 35mm size!

You can set up a email notification to advise of new posts you have previously responded to, but its just something else to look at, and the rate you respond it would fill your inbox in no time! Wink

Yes I have an HTC and do the same and my lappy is mobile too but it is very annoying if the above happens as I then have to check the time stamp to see if I missed that thread.
I already have the email thingy Rolling Eyes

I only go on a couple of other forums, namely my own DS one which isn't very busy and the Citroen car club one but I do like this one

Do you log in to the forum? If you log in you get a different home page. I was getting different results on my laptop to what I was getting on my desltop. The difference was I had logged on to the laptop and clicked the box to 'remember'. On the desktop I hadn't ticked the box. When the box is ticked the homepage has 3 options at the top right. One is 'display post since last visit'

Oh yes I log in, the user and PW are always remembered
It does actually show new posts and if I go through them immediatley its fine but if i go on the homepage see the "new posts" and leave it for a while when I come back they disappear like I already looked at them Rolling Eyes

If you use the back button on your browser instead of going to the homepage, you will always be taken back to the list of new posts, even if you have replied to new posts.

I assume the board treats your opening of the homepage as "your latest visit" and so clears the new posts.

Now Rick has split the catogories up, its quite easy to spot new stuff by scanning down the main index and looking at the date of last post.
