having wasted a few hours the other night perusing Ebay USA for possible bargains in the used cars dept, i have come to the conclusion that 90% of the sellers are either pathological liars or compleat idiots. out and out misrepresentation of below-average $hitebox rust heaps as needing only a few dollars and hours of cleanup to be award winners; plainJane saloons shilled as ultra-rare low production performance cars (one old rustbox Coronet coupe with a smallblock V8 clearly listed as a HEMI) and all sorts of near-criminal bodgery and skullduggery.
i'd hope your lot have more ethics than our slackjawed mouthbreathers; i'm getting really fed up with the attitude of sellers here. |

Its the american way i am afraid its in the constitution
The right to bear arms, the right to harm bears, and make as much money as possible in any way possible
I have spent alot of time there as I did some of my training at quantico and there depths of stupidity still surprises me
I wont get too political though, they are lovely, shallow, gullible yes but lovely people is there an emoticon for "irony" _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

Looking at the cheaper end of old Jaguar ads on the US eBay there is couple
of Mark VIIs and a Mark IX. Whilst literacy could be improved (careful now Peter possible hypocracy claims ahead) I couldn't see anything blatantly dishonest relating the photos to the descriptions.
I can remember seeing some howlers in the past but there are just as many here on the UK eBay.

Took a friend of mine to Liverpool last year to collect a Datsun T Top. Pictures looked OK and description said it possibly needed welding to cills. When we got there, it was a total rot box, needed new floor, bulkhead, wings, doors, bonnet and tailgate otherwise it was OK
We walked away telling the vendor he had mis described the item. Feedback was left by him calling us tyre kickers! |

That's something we really need 62rebel. My nearest pub monthly "vintage" car meet is used a a blatant revenue raiser for the landlord. We provide the show (free of charge) he sets up a barbeque and charges everyone top whack for very poor quality food. I stopped going long ago. |
