I imagine 'Greeney in France' may have some info on these.

At a recent local classic car meet I got talking to someone who has a Matra D'Jet - a car I had long forgotten about. Sadly he didn't have it there but after looking at the pictures avialbe on the internet I think it looks a lovely car and so advanced for the years it was produced,

Similarly this conversation reminded me on a visit to Classic Le Mans some 4 years ago when I was attracted to the SOVAM sports cars.

All these cars have (I think) the Renault 4 engine. Do they ever come up for sale in France?

Tony

Yes I do get to see them occasionally they come up for sale too and tend to be in the 5-10k€ mark, They are indeed a Renault 4 based kit

The D'Jet was initially powered by a Gordini-tuned 1108 ccm Renault engine mounted just ahead of the rear wheels. This gave the small,light and very aerodynamic car a top speed of 165 km/h. (D'Jet II with its slightly higher tuned engine did 190 km/h)

SOVAM was a builder of electric and petrol engined mobile shops,libraries,or why.They were quite stylish looking appliances,spoiled by the tiny little wheels!I guess this was to keep the step entry low.

Indeed they do they are a very big company they even make airport equipment like;
Apron drive bridges
Sea port bridges
Shuttle lifts
Ambulift for transfer of wheelchairs & stretchers
Towable & Self Propelled Passengers stairs
SOVAM stands for Societe Des Vehicules Andre Morin They have a large factory not far away from me in Chauvigny
