Is it my overactive imagination, or does it have the look of an A40/A55 Cambridge? |
No! absolutely nothing like it.

Peter: After seeing that photo, I'm sure the Glas (or Goggo) has just shrunk in the wash...
Rick: Dont worry, you will be getting some photos of the progress... |

Hi UJ,
Not wanting to go off-thread, but do you know what the green Estate Car / Station Wagon is beside the Glas - the roof has me intrigued? |

Thanks UJ - no rush though, just when you have a moment as its only curiosity on my part.
My main interest has always been British and US vehicles, European ones have been a bit of the "black arts" to me as versions keep popping up that I've never seen before - just like this one (I think!). I've lost count the number of times I've thought I'm starting to get to grips with the subject when some "new" one appears that has me completely befuddled!

Scotty - After UJ's riddles this is an easy one.
It is a Wartburg Camping - a five door estate version of the Wartburg Saloon. the Camping was never imported into the UK
Now I want to know more about the elegant lady to the right of the Isar in UJ's pic! _________________ Brian

I'm right, I was completely wrong - Brian that's brilliant, thank you!
Didn't even know such a creature existed in that form, although I've had the "pleasure" of being driven in a saloon version when they were still on UK roads as daily-drivers, an (un)forgettable experience. My friend eventually saved up enough money to upgrade(!) to a modern version, which was even more exciting than the first with smoke and snot pouring out the exhaust, and that was just starting the thing up. A 3-cylinder / 2-stroke if memory serves me correctly.
If truth be told I loved that little car, every trip was an adventure. I seem to remember the hood opened forward and looking in there was this tiny little engine perched right in the middle of the hole surrounded by open space.
