I dont really know. We had arranged a price, and the agreement was that I would pay cash when it was collected. Suddenly, when trying to arrange a date, they stopped answering mails... |

A nice haul,Greeney:).Amazed that there are still cars like this about.A bit of pspit and polish and you have a running classic.
Btw.,I thought you might have been tempted by the "deuche"pickup in the background of the first photo.

Greeney, i've seen only 2 avants in the States in my life. one was in a used car lot near Chicago when i was in the Navy back in the '80's and the other was in a scrappy's here in the Charleston SC are not too long ago. the Chicago car was pretty rough, but looked good; the local car was barely identifiable as an avant at all. if i hadn't recognised the engine and transaxle behind what was left of the grille and scuttle, i'd have thought it was an A Model Ford. certainly the prettiest French car ever made! |

I was more tempted by the special 2cv camping, they were only made for 6months in 1955 in fact I am still considering it as he offer a good discount on the 2
The Avant is indeed a pretty car as far as the prettiest I don't know there are some beauties around I live in the Limousin area of France and this was the centre of the resistance during the war both the Germans and the French drove around in these and people here still remember as they are long lived. One guy told me that the resistance snipers used to lay on the front wings and do a drive by shooting on the German soldiers.
I was very attracted to this one as it is unmolested completely it has had no work done, what you see is what you get, very rare as most have had attempted restos or bodges
It was the most advanced car for 1934 with it FWD and stayed ahead for a good few years mine is a 1953 model they finished in 1956 _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com
