Hi,
I have a remote gearlever which I bought at an autojumble for a project.
See photo's below, but it would be great to know what it came from.
The big clue could be in the small push-button on the top to select reverse?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum.

I think it's from a P2 or P3 Rover but I'm sure other forum members will be able to confirm this.

Peter

Hi
That was my first thought, as soon as I saw the words "button on top".

Remember "Goldfinger" I used to tell my kids to behave because it controlled the ejection seat, and I would use it if they p****d me off. Laughing

Definitely the remote from the some of 1930's prewar D back's the later 10,12, 14,16,20's and all post war Rover P2's and P3's with the reverse keep knob in the centre.

Rover were one of very few pre-war car makers to have a remote change rather than the usual long wobbly and noisy gear stick poking out from the front of the car direct acting into the selectors on top of the gearbox
