Hi and hello I have been drawn to this form to seek advice. I recently lost my father who collected old vehicles. Usuall un restored and awiting his attention is a 1952 A40 Van Column change (Austin of England) which is taking up space in a rented garage. I would like to find a buyer who wishes to restore it, but need advice on where to get sell it. E-bay would seem logical, but do enthusiasts reall look there? I have never seen one for sale, even thoughI have looked for over 12months. I understand they are rare and as this was a runner 6m ago it should make a good project for some one. Can anyone help so I can sell it for my Mum and get her a decent price?
Thanks Smile

As we were talking offline about the survival of these A40s, especially in Oz and NZ, thought you'd be interested to see this pic of one in NZ thats up for sale, a factory Countryman, starting bid NZ $250 (= £95), no idea on the reserve

Thanks Rick I haven't yet decided on selling price or method yet though.!
That's why I thought I might get some ideas from people first. No matter though. We shall keep looking and listening, I also have a spare gearbox and 17" wheels and tyres (the gearbox isthe later type, so are some of the wheels) I can see someone is asking £125 for another gearbox on e-bay so that may be the best way. If I do put the van on e-bay I will post a link Very Happy
I will start her up on Wednesday and do a few bits
