One of the guys staying at the same B&B as us owns a Carden cycle car and has made a rather neat adaptation of his Citroen Berlingo to transport it longer distances.

Hi Rick,
Beaulieu is as big as ever and was a bit muddy on the Friday after all the rains but Saturday and Sunday were nice. I find fewer and fewer parts each year but find it's always good for the contacts and the social side.
One of my cast iron exhaust manifolds had broken and been welded before I got my car and unfortunately disintegrated again recently when I tried to make improvements to its mating faces. This then got me into spending lots on high tech welding rods in an attempt to fix it. Well to cut a rambling story short, it's still only partially fixed.....HOWEVER! Having found virtually ZERO other parts whilst trawling Beaulieu's acres I actually spotted the correct manifold in 50 pence bin on a stall. It was the only one I saw and the correct part out of several variants!
The "Carden Carrier" was very well executed. It's owner does some serious engineering and showed us some beautiful casting patterns that he had made to replace a broken flywheel, a missing manifold and an unobtainable piston for the Carden.
I did at first wonder why the Carden was loaded backwards but I'd failed to appreciate that its engine is integral with the rear axle.
I have to confess that the pictures of the Standard weren't taken at Beaulieu but at one of the other places we visited on the trip. (The location is secret though. )
Peter

nice find on the manifold! great when you stumble across something that the stallholder hasn't been able to identify. I remember finding a NOS bonnet plinth for erindoors' A30 a few years ago in a 50p pile, always worth a root through!

Would that be the rather squashed Austin 7 Swallow on one side...
Or the Morris Minor on the other?...
