I hope I didn't accidently remove it while getting rid of spam.
Don't remember one with that title though.
Sorry if I did
Was the movie any good? How is the new Bond? And most important, Vehicles used? |

Rick, sorry to say, it was me that removed the topic, so you aren't losing the plot.... Apologies!

hehe yeah it probably did come across as being a bit spammy
I did quite enjoy it, although I did think the following while watching it:
1. too much lovey-dovey stuff for my liking
2. not enough proper car chase, the run in the modern Aston was over in a blink
3. too much product placement, spot all the Ford-group products (first driving scene and Bond is in a Ford Mondeo!!!!!)
There is no Moneypenny, and no meeting with Q to collect the latest gadgets. Overall its a darker film, and D Craig does a good job, but I'm not quite sure the script was 'Bond' enough. There were some other good chases, and it is worth seeing, but be prepared for a different take on the Bond theme! Perhaps the old-style films had run their course and it was time to change the formula a bit???

"Perhaps the old-style films had run their course and it was time to change the formula a bit?"
Exactly that! Old style Bond had become something far removed from the initial concept, I don't think it was Bond that changed - it was the audience.
We tend to be far more 'switched on' these days and when you see a guy in a brutal life or death struggle you at least expect him to bleed!
When I think back to the way Roger Moore used to simply brush down his lapels after causing murder and mayhem it all seems a little naive, or dare I say camp.
This Bond has less gadgets but more grit, and the opening sequence was superbly done, the Black guy was a master at parcour! |
