perhaps i'm being just a bit paranoid, but in the past couple of weeks i've been doing a lot of web searching for Triumph Spitfire material and while there are a few excellent pages, there seems to be no "wealth" of material as per, say, the Mustang, or Beetle! of course, i could just be hyper critical of what i'm assessing and all is, actually, well.
just spouting off.
BTW... anyone have a nice owner's manual for a 1500 lying about?

You won't get much cheaper than this one:

I'm inclined to agree 62, although its some years since I last owned one, they don't seem to be quite as prevalent on the 'net as some rivals, such as the MGB and Midget.

Pics of the two I had on the road:

KED, circa 1990

GROG in 1995

I remember them coming in for some scorn back in the early seventies, something to do with their untuneability (is that a word?)

Don.

I think the 1500s were prone to dropping the crank thrust washers, SAH and Triumphtune used to sell bits to make them go better. The blue Spitty (above) went well enough.... Wink

The engine looks a bit long and there seem to be too many plug leads on the "blue Spitty." But perhaps my feeble old eyes are playing tricks? Wink

aye, the lump originated in a 2500S saloon if memory serves, mounted 1' further back in the chassis (note modified bulkhead) to get the weight distribution right. I bought it part done, and finished it off. Went like the clappers Smile
