Is the second picture the B863 Ballachulish to Kinlochleven road?

Hi John,

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread.

You are about as much too far north as Art was too far south.

I think the first picture is about equidistant between many of us Scots and the Nantwich crew.

Peter

No, no, it's the west side of the country.

and the second one is looking towards the inland end of one of the sea lochs.

Yes, it is. Cool

Actually, I just tested the suggestion that the first one is about equi-distant
from Edinburgh and Nantwich. Sorry this was misleading. According to the AA it's 60 miles nearer by road to Edinburgh than it is from Nantwich.

Sorry, Hawick is not far south enough.

But I think you're close enough with number 2. B840 is on the east side of Loch Awe but this photo is looking north from the unmarked road up the west side. Well done!

Peter

Number 1 looks like the (now closed) ford across the river Wear in Stanhope, co. Durham, south of the border but still far enough north to be civilised!

This looks like Ashness Bridge in the Lake District. In the background is Derwent Water and the Skiddaw

Ah, too easy. What about another clue for your unanswered one?

The road in the first picture eventually goes onto a single track road, which leads to a car park. From the car park you walk for around 40 minutes through the forrest, following the river and you come to a vast open meadow. At the end of the meadow is a waterfall which drops some 393 feet.

Is your original picture on the road into Glen Nevis taken looking in the direction going toward Fort William? Ben Nevis on the right.
