Not a classic run specifically, but it seems to be in a good cause anyway Smile

Hi

Am wondering if I can be cheeky and ask you to post this on your site as you may have members who are up this way and would be interested in this event, we have already had local newspaper coverage but am hoping to get it posted on as many sites as I can. Thanking you in advance. I have attached the flyer incase you do put it up for us. Smile

BlingMotors Hartside Pass Charity Run 2008 - 23rd November

Boys & Girls, are you bored of meeting in cold, dark car parks, with the same old banter?

Join the rest of the north east car community on a drive through some of the best roads in our area, whilst raising money for charity and having the chance to win many, many prizes along the way.

In aid of the Feline Friends charity, who are a cat rescue organization for the Tyne & Wear area, we are having a run up some great twisty roads to the Hartside Top Café (highest café in England).
On the way, you will be given tasks to complete, they're nothing major - just take a few photos, and a few puzzles for your passengers to complete. These are completely optional, you are welcome just to tag along for the drive and the laugh, but complete the tasks and the teams with the highest amount of points will win many great prizes, including some great car modification goodies, a basket of skincare products and even a Toshiba laptop! Donated prizes from Free Spirit Homeopathy, Snap On, CTS, BlingMotors, JS Autos and Staff Members.

Starting at Peel retail park (homebase car park) at 11am, and finishing at the café - the journey is approximately 55miles. At the top you can hand in your tasks, and chill in the warm café, where a raffle will be held for more great prizes.

It is £3 to enter the event, and all proceeds will go to Feline Friends and RVI Childrens Ward.
Bring a camera, a pen and a good sense of humor with you!

Please remember, this will not be a race, points are not awarded for getting anywhere first!!
This is open to all vehicles (bikes may be a bit tricky for the tasks!), standard, modified, oldskool, classics, even 4x4s (could come in handy!)

Possible max power & radio attendence, once all details are finalised, we will get flyer & more info posted up - rain or shine, this will be a great event before the snow sets in! We did this back in 2006 without the tasks and with only a handful of us and was a good laugh - so this will be class, the more the merrier.

Check out this topic out for up to date list of who is attending http://www.blingmotors.co.uk/invision/index.php?showtopic=24335

Thanks Again

Very surprised to hear that, peppi. I've used the Hartside for years now, and the food has always been fantastic. Their meat pies are to die for. I guess you must have got three bad 'uns.

Well the ones we got weren't!!! 2 meat pies were stale and off, and my shepherds pie was dry as dust and like cardboard. Still great views though!!
