In 1966 I was the proud owner of this:
Not the cat, he was a neighbour's.
Couldn't wait to get four wheels and bought my first car two months after my 17th birthday.
Kept my motorbike licence and so can still ride any bike, but hadn't done so until last year when a friend insisted I took his Suzuki Bandit out for a spin. Borrowed his leathers and lid and set off cautiously down to a dual carriageway near home. Scared the s**t out of myself as the acceleration nearly threw me off the back. Crawled back home in second gear and vowed never to touch one again. |

In 1965/66 your's truely had these..
The first one was in exchange for me building a record player for the previous owner and the second was from the proceeds of the insurance right-off of a Dürkopp Diana that got bent when an old guy did a U turn in front of me having failed to see me bearing down on him. Interestingly it wrote off his car as well as my Dürkopp.
